More Details About The Egmont Key / Sand Dollar Island Tour
The choice of our first stop on this tour is completely up to you. We have the option to either stop at Egmont Key or Sand Dollar Island. Depending on your preferences and what you and your family are looking for, we can customize your private boat charter in St. Petersburg accordingly. To reach these islands, we can either use the Gulf or the intercoastal. Egmont is slightly further south compared to Sandollar Island, but it’s not a problem to hop to either one as long as conditions allow for it.
Sand Dollar Island – Also known as Outback Key, Sand Dollar island offers the best shelling opportunities in St. Petersburg and possibly all of Tampa Bay. Apart from sand dollars, you can also enjoy the crystal clear water while relaxing on it’s magnificent beaches. The island is perfect for beach games, snorkeling, or simply sunbathing. Spending the entire tour here would be a delightful experience.
Alternatively, we can opt for a boat ride to Egmont Key, which is approximately 15 to 30 minutes away, depending on the day’s conditions.
Egmont Key – Egmont Key is famous for the remains of a Spanish American Fort constructed in the 1800s. The beautiful waters surrounding the island provide excellent snorkeling opportunities, allowing you to witness the underwater section of the fort ruins, if the conditions are favorable. Additionally, Egmont Key features a walking trail that offers a glimpse into the past.
